History of

the Association

RASC / RCT Association Scotland

There are seven Association branches

in  Scotland.

Aberdeen, Ayrshire, East Kilbride, Edinburgh, Fife,

Glasgow and the West of Scotland and Perthshire

Who can join the Association?

Anyone who has served in the RASC, the RCT or has been attached to units of the RASC or the RCT while serving in the REME, ATS or WRAC.  Former and serving members of the RLC will also be made most welcome.

Associate membership may be granted by Branches to people who have had long or special connections with either Corps or, in particular, with the Branch.

What does it cost?

Membership is very nominal and is well worth the cost.

Annual Membership - £1.00

Life Membership - £6.00

What can I put into it?

The benefits of Association membership depend, as always in such organisations, upon the contributions made by members in offering friendship, helping others, helping to run Branches by joining the committee and being a positive member.

If you valued the comradeship of your service in the Army and the standards achieved, help to maintain them by joining your local Branch.

Contact details for each branch are on the branch webpages.  Alternatively use the "Contact us" button at the top of this page.

Please Note

Due to the ongoing situation with the Coronavirus our branch meetings have been cancelled until further notice.

We hope all our members and visitors stay safe and well in these troubled times, and look forward to seeing you all when we are able to get out and about once more.

If any member needs help please contact your branch secretary.

Notice of Website Closure

This website will be closing on the 1st of October 2020

This is due to the fact that i have recieved almost nothing from the branches for inclusion on the

website in the last 2 or 3 years. There seems to be no point in continuing with some thing that is not being used

The other reason for closure is that I have been receiving up to 50 notifications from the website each day offering me everything from porn to extreme wealth. I have to open each one to ensure it is not a genuine request for information. This means the site is no longer secure, I have notified Moonfruit but their reply was for me to remove the email address from the website.

As each of the branches now have their own Face book page there is less need for the website.

I wondered if members would like a Regional fb page where information from region could be posted, it would be open to all members. The alternative is that information is sent out through branch secretaries.

Hope you are all well. Please an extract from an email I received today from the legion 're VJ Day. If you can please join in with the 2 minutes silence.

On the 15th August 2020, the nation will commemorate VJ 75.  We ask you to join us in the Two Minute Silence at 11am, in whichever way is the most meaningful to you, within the bounds of the public health guidance on social distancing in your area. Formal commemorations will be broadcast on BBC One from the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire and will incorporate wreath-laying activity at several of the relevant memorials and artefacts linked to the WW2 campaign in South-East Asia.  Coverage begins at 0930 on BBC One.
