MINUTES OF THE MEETING  FOR 27TH APRIL 2018

CHAIRMAN’S REPORT

 

The Chairman told the members of a trip some of the members had been on to Kirkcaldy for the Links Market.                                    

The Chairman had a meeting with the Regional dance subcommittee discussing the final arrangements for the dance.

 

SECRETARY’S REPORT

 

The branch had a visitor from the Action on Hearing Loss a Miss Angela Paton the Hearing Forces Officer. She gave an excellent talk to our members about hearing aids and the other types of support available to those with hearing loss.

 

The Secretary sent an email on the 2ND April 2018 to the Regional Secretary with the Itinerary of the branch summer trip and asking for a grant towards the trip.  

The Secretary also sent emails to Blackpool Council to inquire about what was on during Veterans week.

 

The Secretary also contacted the Guards Club to ask if they have anything planned on the Sunday after the Parade.  As our members enjoyed themselves on their last visit. No reply has been received so far.      

                                 

On the 25th April the Vice Chairman and the Secretary went to the SSAFA, AGM at the Queens Barracks, it was a very good meeting.

SOCIAL CONVENER’S REPORT  

 

The Chairman told the members of the final details of the dance.   The Chairman told the Secretary to phone and email Mr Herschell to remind him of his ticket money.

 

BENEVOLENCE  

 

One of our members was hit by a Vehicle in Scone, Mr Donald Mc Phee, who was in Ninewells Hospital but is home now.

 

The Secretary sent him a get well card from the members.

 

The Chairman phoned Mr McPhee to check on his health and offer support if required.

The Chairman of the Regional committee wants two names forward for the Cenotaph parade in November.
